DL2 Ch.3 Connecting to Your Writing: Focusing Your Research Topic

Abuses of Alcohol

Many people don't even realize when they have become an alcoholic. I have friends who like to drink. Most do it on occasion, but others are addicted. The ones who are addicted don't see themselves as alcoholics, but in my eyes, and others around them, they definately are. It is a problem when you drink every single day until the point of passed-out drunk. This is an everyday conversation.

Everyone I talk to agrees that alcohol kills, but most don't know the physical points to the topic.

Diseases-heart disease, birth defects, hepatitis, cirrhosis, damage to the inner body

mental-depression, anxiety, psychological problems

misc.-drunk driving, aggression, crime, family abuse

I'll definitely be keeping up on your work, as I am alcoholic, and this is a question I have struggled with for years.

you might want to look into what medical help there is for alcoholics. such as counsolers and rehab etc. My dad is an alcoholic and because of his insurance they would not take him into rehab. I think that research might be interesting.
