I found this from the MCC library. This article gave me tons of information that is great for quoting in my paper. Basically it explains how organizations and the government are addressing the underage drinking issue and how they are trying to enforce harsher laws. Many college campuses and spring break hot spots are enforcing stricter rules. This article doesn't really answer questions, just gives me reliable backup for my topic.
Nathan, Peter E. et al. Understanding Alcohol Use Disorders and Their Treatment. American Psychological Association Help Center. Retrieved July 7, 2007 from http://www.apahelpcenter.org/articles/article.php?id=45.
I found this using the always useful Google database. It was exactly what I was looking for. It pinpoints how casual drinking can easily turn into dependency and fully defines the term alcohol dependent. It went on to describe the many causes of alcohol-related disorders and how it effects the people around the person. Also, the article explained how a psychologist can help an alcoholic. It is a respectable source because it comes from a reliable source, the American Psychological Association.
Data/Statistical Tables. (July 2006). National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism from the National Institutes of Health. Retrieved July 7, 2007 from http://www.niaaa.nih.gov/Resources/DatabaseResources/QuickFacts/default.htm.
To find this website, I first looked through the US Department of Commerce database at FedWorld.gov which then led me to the NIAAA site. It just gives all kinds of statistics I will need to backup my research. It is a respectable source because it is an accredited institute of health from the national government.
